Welcome
I am Father Nektarios Farah, a priest of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, serving in the Metropolis of Ptolemais (Acre) at the parish of St. George Church in Al-Buqei'a – Al-Marj (Peqi'in).
I was ordained a deacon in 2016 and a priest in 2017. Alongside my priestly ministry I still teach physics at Yani High School in Kfar Yassif, the school I graduated from, and help students prepare for their Bagrut (matriculation) exams, and I manage the digital memorial platform “Zikra – Remembering the Departed” and the website of St. Nektarios the Wonderworker.
I hope this website will be a quiet place for a good word, for news of the parish and for learning, and that every visitor will find here something that builds up the soul.
I attended the village schools of Kfar Yassif for primary and middle school, then finished high school at Yani High School in Kfar Yassif, majoring in physics and computer science.
I earned my first degree, a B.Sc. in Physics, at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Be'er Sheva.
I earned a master's degree in educational sciences and a teaching certificate at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
I have taught physics in secondary schools since 2008. Today I teach at Yani High School in Kfar Yassif, the school I graduated from, and I prepare my students for their Bagrut exams.
I earned a diploma in theology, by distance learning, from the University of Balamand.
Alongside teaching and ministry, I also work as a designer.
I design digital (computerised) icons.
I design and typeset liturgical books for the Church, such as the Divine Liturgy, the Mystery of Baptism and the Funeral service. Links to the books will be added soon.
On 24 December 2016 I was ordained a deacon at the Church of the Resurrection in Jerusalem, at the site of Golgotha, by Metropolitan Joachim, with the blessing of His Beatitude the Patriarch and by decision of the Holy Synod.
On 11 March 2017 I was ordained a priest at the Church of the Resurrection in Jerusalem, in front of the Holy Sepulchre, by Metropolitan Kyriakos of Nazareth and Galilee, with the blessing of His Beatitude the Patriarch and by decision of the Holy Synod. Holy Synod decision (Patriarchate website)
On 15 November 2017, with the blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III, I was elevated to the rank of Oikonomos.
I serve as parish priest of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Al-Buqei'a – Al-Marj (Peqi'in).
I manage the Zikra platform and the St. Nektarios the Wonderworker website, and I publish lessons on the “Father Nektarios at School” YouTube channel.
I serve the parish of St. George Church in Al-Buqei'a – Al-Marj (Peqi'in), in the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Ptolemais (Acre), Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
As a parish we gather around the Divine Liturgy and the church services, the heart of our Christian life.
I am glad to listen to anyone who reaches out, in the parish or by message.
On my YouTube channel I share recordings of the Liturgy and services from St. George Church, and talks on the Divine Liturgy. You can watch them on the Videos page.
Besides the parish and teaching, I manage two websites and a teaching channel on YouTube.
